Benalmádena is a Spanish town in the Province of Malaga, on the Costa del Sol.

It is one of the main tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol, famous for its leisure facilities such as a theme park, two aquariums, a casino, a cable-car, and one of the largest marinas in Andalucia.

The climate is typically Mediterranean with mild temperatures (an annual average of 19ºC) in the months between summers and never any freeze-overs in winter. These favourable temperatures and its location on Europe’s southern shore are the main reasons that make tourism the main economic motor of this municipality.

Benalmádena has 20 km of coastline, making up 17 beaches of sand and palm trees.

The most characteristic dishes of its gastronomy are: “migas con leche” (a tasty dish with serrano ham, olive oil, and fried bread and milk), skewered sardines, the “Cachorreña” hotpot, and Fried Battered Fish (pescaíto frito).
